IN is Hoioh's hero product. It's a multi-functional object that is sold in pairs, in two sizes: standard (seat height: 45 cm) and small (seat height: 32 cm). Each pair is made of two specular stools that join each other to create a closed box with its iconic diagonal. The small pair fits within the bigger one, matryoshka-style.

IN was originally designed by Gastón Gil and Zulema Josa, and later redesigned by Hoioh's team for CNC production.

All parts are cut in Girona, Catalunya, using sustainable birch plywood.

IN tells a story of encounters and conviviality. Its design is a metaphor about how people meet and complement each other, how we are all similar and different at the same time.

Thoughtful design

IN was born in 2017 as a concept for the fuori-salone del mobile in Milan.

Redesigned for CNC production in 2019, it won a Silver Delta ADI award in Barcelona in 2020, and an IF design award the following year.

Multi-functional

Table, box, extra seats...

IN is a multifaceted object that, whilst being beautiful and mysterious when closed, it can be used in several ways in many spaces.

It can contain toys and other objects or work as a coffee or bedside table, as well as two comfortable extra seats when friends or family visit.

flat-pack

Playful and easy to build

IN is shipped in a compact flat-pack with a QR-code link to video instructions. Building it is a bit like playing with Lego and Tetris, or making a wooden Origami.
